SGO Designer Glass (Baltimore)
Website
2008
While I was working with the corporate office on their new brochure, I designed our local studio's website using the same design language. I had two main goals in this project:
First and most importantly, I wanted the site to be a useful resource for our customers. It needed to take a wide variety of glass types and present them in a way that the customer could easily understand and navigate based on their criteria. The products page divides the options into broad categories with descriptions, suggested applications and numerous sample shots.
Second, the site needed to be discoverable and accessible. Thus, it makes use of Search Engine Optimization techniques, such as an integrated WordPress blog, social media integration, structured content and an adherence to existing web standards.
Working in 2008, I hand coded the site using Panic's Coda in XHTML Strict and CSS 2.1. I've since moved on to use HTML5 and CSS3 in projects, but this site remains very efficient and continues to receive compliments from our customers.
